CHAPINERO Neighborhood

Chapinero is in the north of Bogotá and is one of the traditional localities of the city. In this town a large part of the musical culture has been developed, due to the operation of studies and auditoriums in the area. It is one of the favorite areas for tourists due to its great commercial activity, nightlife and offers a lot of cultural offer: there are located the main theaters of the city. Thanks to its location it concentrates a great div´ersity of people, stories and cultu´res and in its streets you can breathe, in general, a bohemian and youthful atmosphere.

Chapinero is one of the advisable districts to stay in Bogotá . It is a very wide area located between La Candelaria and the northernmost neighborhoods of the Colombian capital. It is a dynamic neighborhood, well located, and has a reputation of bohemian and tolerant. It is also one of the best places to go out for dinner. Not surprisingly, it welcomes the Zona G , a name that comes from “gourmet”, between "calle" 65 and 4, and "carreras" 7 and 3. Colombians recommend ordering the "chimichurri chontaduro en magret de pato", "merengón de guanábana" or "posta negra cartagenera". In addition, there are restaurants with Arabic, Argentine, French, Italian and Mexican food. In addition to going out for dinner, Chapinero is the favorite place to enjoy Colombian coffee in one of its many coffee shops. Some recommended are Amor Perfecto, Bourbon y Café Cultor .

Another thing that the neighborhood offers is to enjoy a walk through the eastern hills without getting too far from the city. In addition to the beautiful natural environment with vegetation typical of the forests, it has a magnificent view of Bogotá , especially if you climb the path of Quebrada La Vieja .

Regardless of your budget and your accommodation tastes, at Chapinero you will find what you are looking for. Its hotel offer is varied: from simple and low-cost hostels and pensions to luxurious hotels. The G zone offers the best Chapinero offers to stay in Bogotá. Choosing accommodation in this area is strategic to easily access the main tourist attractions of La Candelaria during the day, and take advantage of the pubs in the pink area > during the night.
